Our Mission
Our mission is not only to staff and operate up to date homes for the aged, but as a religious organization it is to bring Christ to every person under our care. Bringing Christ means giving our residents His compassion, His interest, His loving care, His warmth morning, noon and night. It means inspiring the lay people who work with us, to give the same type of loving care.
Our values are in cooperation with who we are as religious women and the mission entrusted to us by God and His Church.
Our values define who we are in carrying out our mission within the Church and encompass our Charism. The following are the values that speak to who we are and what we do within the various settings of service and care:
- Sanctity of Life - Our belief is that all life is sacred, and we advocate especially on behalf of the elderly. Our care witnesses to the gospel message of Jesus and the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church.
- Hospitality - Our belief is that each home should provide a welcoming, person-centered environment and atmosphere of a “Home”. Personal warmth, love and holistic care, which encompasses residents’ physical, social, psychological, emotional and spiritual needs, are our hallmarks. Guided by our Catholic tradition, we seek to honor the spiritual journeys of all peoples of all faiths.
- Shared Commitment - Our belief is that quality of care is attained by a team spirit that has a shared sense of achievement, accountability, ideas, insights and the commitment to the wise stewardship of resources. Treating one another respectfully and justly, and joining together for our common Mission, will enable us to continue to move forward with the time.
- Compassion - Our belief is that each person is created in the image of God as an object of his personal love, and, as such, we are to bring hope, healing and comfort to all we encounter in our ministry. In the words of Venerable Mary Angeline Teresa, we strive to be “kinder than kindness itself”.

Clasp The Hand Of An Aged Person...
Have you ever wondered what inspires someone to enter religious life? If so, you might want to consider getting to know the Carmelite Congregation better through an Affiliate Program that is offered by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm. In this program, interested young women are able to participate in the Sisters’ life of prayer, community and in their active ministry on a volunteer basis. Their activity stems from their prayer, and it is their intimate union with Jesus that allows them to go forward and continue their healing ministry to all those entrusted to their care.
